AmeriPlan®. Is it a Scam and a Rip Off?
Thinking about being a Business Owner?-The Truth about the company founded in 1992.
In 2007 my son needed braces and, like anyone, I was looking to save money on the $5000.00 and $6000.00 quotes I was getting. I found a company on the internet called AmeriPlan®. The pricing claimed the cost would be $2100.00! Being the skeptic I am, I decided to wait till the following day to call my dentist office to see if this plan was legitimate. I mentioned the HUGE savings to my wife as we were going to bed, and as we lay in bed I was reading a success type of magazine. I found an article on a woman whom had made an astounding $27,000.00 in a short 6 months. As I read further in the article, to my surprise, she was working for AmeriPlan®!!! After reading the article, I was very interested if the company was legitimate. So I started doing massive research on the internet along with calling the Better Business Bureau. I found quite a few disgruntled people under "Rip-Off Report" and just plain articles on how people didn't succeed in AmeriPlan®. The next day I find out from the Better Business Bureau that AmeriPlan® had 262 reports. So at this point, I was on a mission to find out the truth of the matter. My wife and I were always interested in helping people, and this seemed like a dream come true by helping people save money, help people make money, and make a living doing it.
What I found out after researching for a couple months and interviewing business owners for AmeriPlan®
AmeriPlan® was founded by twin brothers that really CARE about people and had a dream to make the world a better place. With a company the size of AmeriPlan® you are always going to have bad teams and greedy people. This is sad, but it is the world we live in.
The first thing I learned before I became involved with AmeriPlan® is that to earn the good money that top earners do, you have to work for it! What a concept! Make sure you are willing to put forth effort, for this will equal your results. The next thing I learned is to be very VERY cautious to who your mentor and team are, i.e., having a solid belief system and know that AFTER you sign on the dotted line they will personally be there for you. Please research this. Many, MANY good Americans’ dreams have been shattered because they were told they would get help and didn't get it. The new business owner had hope, and they were hung out to dry. NO HELP! Many AmeriPlan® business owners run numbers and HOPE some of the new owners will learn on their own and stick. This is very sad, because those individuals were treated as a thing and not a person.
We as a team have heard this time and time again from people who were business owners and heard about the help they could get from our team. We DO NOT bite off more than we can chew. Just like someone new, we were all there and needed guidance. So you can see how people can feel that they were scammed. Come to find out the woman from Texas I read about that excited me was one of the people running numbers, was greedy and could care less about you unless you were cranking numbers for her too. DON'T LET YOURSELF BE A CASUALTY. Talk to other business owners on the team you are looking to join or you WILL FEEL SCAMMED!
As mentioned in the above paragraph, this business does take work. By no means is it a get-rich-overnight scheme. When you start your AmeriPlan® business, you will find you as would with any new business have to invest money in marketing. Your mentor can help you with inexpensive ways to start marketing. You will find absolute pleasure in helping people save and make money. The business can get addicting real quick. Please don't think you are going to start a new business without putting forth effort and some cash to get your business off to the right foot, so you can start enjoying daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly paychecks.
My 1st month working with AmeriPlan® I made $1900.00 and invested about $120.00 in marketing my business. One gal in Virginia made over $1000.00 part time by using her effort and about $10.00 marketing budget in 22 days. It is highly recommended once you do find the proper support team that you join the business as a Trainer instead of just an IBO. Why? The benefits and savings rewarding, not to mention the quick start bonus you will receive. If you have a solid mentor, they will make sure you get you $323.47 bonus in your 1st 18 days. It is always preached on our team to help and make sure you do whatever you can to see that individual gets off to a fast start, and that bonus is a great achievement for a new business owner. Once again, solid team and leader you are on your way to financial freedom. If you don't have this, you will feel scammed!
More findings? Yes! I mentioned bad apples? Greed is the root of evil and stands true here. Former (yes they were caught) were stealing card numbers from stores and signing up clients without their knowledge. As PEOPLE have tried to ruin AmeriPlan®'s reputation, the company is constantly building safeguards, for not only business owners but for our clients as well. Just like one day you go in to a store looking for those batteries that you once could grab off the shelf are now behind the counter. Why? They have to safeguard themselves from the people that ruined it for the rest of us by stealing. As mentioned, a proper team with solid ethics will get you a long way in AmeriPlan®.
Other findings about AmeriPlan® via the internet and the Better Business Bureau.
One of the top complaints, other than the above mentioned, was by clients that use the plan and business owners. The complaint was that AmeriPlan® would not stop drafting from their account after cancelling due to the lack of communication to the business owner wanting to cancel to their mentor and the person who sold the plan to the member caused these complaints. All a business owner or member has to do is to contact AmeriPlan® Consumer Information Center at 1-800-647-8421, and the client will get specific info on how to cancel or change their plan. I personally tested this myself. My family did not need the Plus part of our medical any longer. I contacted corporate, and they directed me to an e-mail, which I did. I then received a professional letter in the mail acknowledging and confirming my request. My guess is that there is a lost line of communication, or people are not following through with instructions on changing their account. As a whole, AmeriPlan® is a great company, and they do what they say! It is the business owners who can cause a bad name for the company.
Please hear what I have said. If you are considering this as an opportunity, yes it is awesome. Can teams and people who just care about themselves ruin it for you out of the gate? Yes!
Make sure this business is for you. Great things can happen for you and change your life. Know this is not a get-rich-overnight scheme. With proper coaching, you CAN and will make it to the top, if you have the goals, will, and faith.
Good luck in your new business venture with AmeriPlan®. It can be a great one if you do your homework.
Highest regards,
